UNIQUE! Magnificent property in the heart of the vineyards

Description

The commune of Chardonne is located on the shores of Lake Geneva. It includes the locality of Mont-Pèlerin and also includes the summit of Mont Pèlerin, where forests and fields occupy most of the landscapes. Vines are also omnipresent in the town which is part of Lavaux.

Chardonne was part of the bailiwick of Lausanne from 1536 to 1798, but the bailiff of Oron had skills and competence there. More precisely, Chardonne is part of the châtellenie as well as of the political parish of Corsier. Until 1798, the executive (called “council”) was composed of 6 members and a governor.

In 1798, Chardonne joined the newly created district of Vevey. Since 1986, Chardonne has been twinned with the French commune of Barbezieux-Saint-Hilaire en Charente, the birthplace of the writer Jacques Chardonne, who chose his pseudonym after a stay in Switzerland. Each year, schoolchildren from one or the other locality visit their Swiss or French counterparts.

Protected agricultural area – implications

Modification of an existing building
Buildings that correspond to the typology division of the zone/ area, can be redesigned taking into account the identity of the building (colors, volumes, materials). An existing poorly integrated building may require to use different and specific materials.

New construction
When building in a new agricultural / wine-growing zone, the following points must be observed:

  • Be located near a building area and / or exploitation to favor the regrouping of buildings to limit the spread of the territory
  • Take into account the characteristics of the location (property boundaries, existing buildings, existing roads, etc.).
  • The building shall inntegrate itself harmoniously in the surrounding built and non-built area
